Galo

Galo is an independent watch brand founded around five years ago with the aim of creating watches with a distinct personality rather than reproducing the codes of a traditional watch company. Its name means “rooster” in Portuguese, a symbol chosen to represent independence and loyalty to a personal design vision. The brand does not claim a family watchmaking heritage or historic manufacture background, instead adopting a direct approach focused on creating watches with meaning and character. Founder Zeca Amendola cites a childhood Casio and a Seiko SKX007 given to him by his father among the watches that shaped his passion for horology. This influence can be seen in models such as the Super200, which combine compact dimensions, genuine dive-watch water resistance and neo-vintage styling. Galo therefore focuses on accessible, functional mechanical watches designed to be comfortably worn every day. Different dial, bezel and strap options also allow the appearance of its models to be significantly personalised. The brand consequently embraces the identity of a contemporary microbrand rather than relying on traditional watchmaking heritage. Its approach to dive watches is primarily built around functionality, design and a personal connection with the object itself.
