The brand Hanhart is a watchmaking company founded in 1882 in Diessenhofen, Switzerland, by Johann Adolf Hanhart. In the early 20th century, the company moved to Germany’s Black Forest, where it remains based today. Hanhart quickly specialized in timekeeping instruments, particularly stopwatches and chronographs. In the 1920s, the brand gained recognition with affordable and precise mechanical stopwatches. It later became a pioneer in pilot chronographs starting in the late 1930s. Its military DNA strengthened through supplying watches to European air forces. Hanhart notably equipped the German armed forces with robust and highly legible chronographs. Modern designs reinterpret these historical codes with a functional vintage aesthetic.
