Herbelin

Founded in 1947 in Charquemont, in France’s Haut-Doubs region, Herbelin is an independent, family-owned French watchmaking company. Created by Michel Herbelin, the Maison was built around a strong commitment to precision, quality and independence. The sea has played an important role in the company’s history, reflecting its founder’s personal passion for sailing. In 1988, this maritime inspiration gave birth to Newport, which became one of Herbelin’s signature collections. Today, this nautical heritage continues notably through the Newport Diver and diving models within the Cap Camarat collection. Herbelin watches are designed, developed, assembled and inspected at the company’s workshops in Charquemont. They are powered by Swiss movements, adjusted in France by Herbelin watchmakers to ensure precision and reliability. Hand assembly includes the fitting of seals and the case back to ensure the watch’s water resistance. Each watch undergoes 65 quality-control checks, including tests for accuracy, water resistance and fastening. Herbelin therefore combines French watchmaking expertise, carefully selected components and a strong maritime heritage in its diving-oriented timepieces.
