Ollech & Wajs is a Swiss watch company founded in Zurich in 1956 by Joseph Ollech and Albert Wajs. From the 1960s onward, the brand distinguished itself with tool watches designed for demanding environments, including the Caribbean 1000 Precision, introduced in 1964 with a certified water resistance of 1,000 metres. It subsequently developed several professional dive watches used by commercial divers, military personnel and teams operating at sea. In 1968, some OW dive watches were tested by deep-sea diving crews in helium-rich environments. The brand still maintains this focus on durability, water resistance and mechanical reliability today. Its watches are designed in Zurich and individually assembled and adjusted by hand in the Swiss Jura. Prototypes undergo water-resistance, impact, scratch and repeated disassembly tests. Movements are also checked in several positions before delivery. Remaining faithful to its heritage, Ollech & Wajs continues to produce professional mechanical watches built to withstand intensive use.
