Bell & Ross BR-03 Space Mission Pilot Watch
Starting from 4.990 €The Bell & Ross BR-03 Space Mission is a pilot's watch that leaves the cockpit for orbit. It keeps the square case that defines the BR-03 collection, inspired by aircraft instruments, but turns it into a porthole open onto space. Its black aventurine dial replaces conventional hands with a transparent disc on which the Moon marks the hours, while a space plane circles the dial to indicate the minutes. Limited to 999 pieces and powered by an automatic movement, it forms a two-piece family alongside the BR-03 Astro, its blue-dialled predecessor. A poetic piece designed for watch, aviation and space exploration enthusiasts who like to read time differently.
Bell & Ross BR-03 Space Mission pilot's watch
At Bell & Ross, everything starts with the instrument panel. The square case of the BR-03 echoes the silhouette of a cockpit's instruments, and this aeronautical lineage has made the collection one of the brand's most recognisable signatures. All its watches are Swiss Made, assembled and regulated in La Chaux-de-Fonds, but their imagery readily looks to the sky, and now well beyond it.
The BR-03 Space Mission follows a recent lineage. In 2025, the BR-03 Astro paved the way by placing Earth at the centre of the dial, surrounded by the Moon and Mars. Bruno Belamich, co-founder and creative director, described it as “a concept watch, an invitation to travel into the heart of the Milky Way”, able for once to give a dreamlike dimension where instrument watches usually settle for a technical reading. The Space Mission is presented as its sequel.
This time, the case becomes a porthole open onto space. A craft inspired by the Vortex, Dassault Aviation's reusable space plane project, completes its revolution around the dial, while a small red dot recalls the presence of Mars. The aeronautical heritage remains intact, it simply changes altitude. Neither piece claims to replace a piloting instrument. These are poetic display watches, designed for enthusiasts of watchmaking, aviation and futuristic worlds, who find in the BR-03 a graphic playground where each rotation reshapes the landscape.

The Bell & Ross BR-03 Space Mission pilot's watch
The BR-03 Space Mission adopts the architecture that made the collection's reputation: a 41 mm square case, designed like an instrument panel and made here in bead-blasted black ceramic. This matte material acts as a sober frame for a dial that commands all the attention. At 10.60 mm thick, the watch keeps measured proportions and slips easily under a shirt cuff. The show plays out beneath the anti-reflective treated sapphire crystal. The background is a slab of black aventurine representing space. Reading the time drops traditional hands without losing intuitiveness: a transparent disc bearing Earth and the Moon completes a revolution in twelve hours, and it is the Moon that marks the hour.

A space plane travels around the rim of the dial to indicate the minutes. The time is therefore read as on a two-hand watch, while the landscape evolves every minute. This approach makes the Space Mission a pilot's watch apart in the Bell & Ross catalogue. It keeps the cockpit codes but puts them in service of a narrative rather than a navigation function. Produced as a limited series of 999 pieces, it is aimed at collectors attached to the BR-03 as much as space exploration enthusiasts, who will find a singular piece, instantly identifiable on the wrist.
Automatic movement and two visions of space
Beating beneath the dial is the BR-CAL.325 calibre, an automatic mechanical movement built on a Sellita SW330 base and running at 28,800 vibrations per hour. Its 54-hour power reserve means it can still be running after a weekend off the wrist. It sticks to essentials, hours and minutes, which suits a display where every element of the scenery carries a function. The 100-metre water resistance allows everyday contact with water, without making this piece a dive watch. On the comfort side, the bead-blasted ceramic and black rubber strap make for a discreet set, complemented by a second strap in black synthetic fabric for a change of style. The strap comes in S, M or L sizes depending on wrist size.

The model comes in two versions. The Space Mission, with its black aventurine dial, is the thinnest and most recent. The BR-03 Astro, its predecessor, features a blue aventurine dial and an entirely different display: Mars, carried by a mysterious hand, indicates the hours, the laser-engraved Moon the minutes, and a satellite acts as a seconds hand orbiting an Earth carved into the sapphire. It relies on the BR-CAL.327 calibre, which adds the seconds, and measures 11.50 mm thick. Both are limited to 999 pieces and priced at €4,990, with the Astro currently unavailable.
Bell & Ross BR-03 Space Mission pilot's watch: space in motion
The Bell & Ross BR-03 Space Mission pairs a 41 mm square case in bead-blasted black ceramic, 10.60 mm thick, with a black aventurine dial where the Moon indicates the hours and a space plane the minutes. It is powered by the automatic BR-CAL.325 calibre and its 54-hour power reserve, protected by an anti-reflective treated sapphire crystal and water resistant to 100 metres. Supplied with a black rubber strap and a second in synthetic fabric, it is limited to 999 pieces, as is the BR-03 Astro, its blue-dialled predecessor with the BR-CAL.327 calibre, offered at the same price of 4,990 euros.
Movement
The Space Mission is equipped with the BR-CAL.325 calibre, an automatic mechanical movement built on a Sellita SW330 base and beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour. It offers a 54-hour power reserve and focuses on hours and minutes, transmitted to the lunar disc and the space plane. The BR-03 Astro, meanwhile, uses the BR-CAL.327 calibre, which adds seconds displayed by a satellite, for the same autonomy. Two closely related movements, serving displays conceived as genuine animated tableaux.
Diameter and materials
The 41 mm square case, a BR-03 signature, is made in bead-blasted black ceramic, a matte finish that reinforces the instrument panel spirit. The Space Mission measures 10.60 mm thick, against 11.50 mm for the Astro. The dial changes depending on the version: black aventurine crossed by a transparent disc for the Space Mission, blue aventurine beneath an Earth carved into the sapphire for the Astro. Both versions are protected by an anti-reflective treated sapphire crystal, worked in relief on the Astro.
Water resistance
Both versions offer 100 metres of water resistance, a comfortable figure for a pilot's watch worn daily. It allows rain, handwashing or a swim without worry, but the BR-03 Space Mission was not designed as a dive watch and makes no claim to dedicated immersion equipment. The bead-blasted black ceramic case and the anti-reflective treated sapphire crystal form an envelope consistent with this versatile use, while the black rubber strap copes well with water contact.
Accessories
The BR-03 Space Mission is supplied on a black rubber strap, accompanied by an extra strap in black synthetic fabric that allows a change of style depending on the occasion. The strap is chosen in S, M or L sizes at the time of order, according to wrist size. The set is closed by a bead-blasted steel pin buckle treated with matte black PVD, matching the ceramic case. The BR-03 Astro shares exactly the same package, with its two black straps and pin buckle.
Warranty
The BR-03 Space Mission comes with a 2-year international warranty, covering parts and labour. The strap and buckle are excluded from this cover, worth keeping in mind for anyone who often switches between rubber and synthetic fabric. The same terms apply to the BR-03 Astro. Like all the brand's watches, both pieces are Swiss Made, assembled and regulated in La Chaux-de-Fonds, a mark of seriousness for editions limited to 999 pieces.
