Delma Quattro dive watch

An independent, family-owned Swiss house founded in 1924, Delma claims more than a century of sports and dive watches. Its underwater history truly begins in 1969 with the Periscope, then continues in 1975 with the Shell Star, a professional instrument built for divers. The brand built its identity on rugged, legible and affordable tool watches, far removed from exercises in style. The current Diver collection brings together the Blue Shark IV, Shell Star, Cayman, Commodore and Santiago, alongside the Quattro.

The original Quattro was launched in the early 1980s with a quartz movement. It found its audience among divers, notably in the United States, thanks to Delma's presence at Florida dive shows. Developed at the time with SDW, Swiss Divers Watches, it was also sold to other brands, which explains the existence of several very similar-looking models under different names. This industrial lineage is part of the model's history.

Announced in August 2022, the reissue revives the founding principle: a detachable case that can be fitted equally to a bracelet or to a decompression plate. This aluminium plate is engraved with tables based on the work of Swiss pioneers Hannes Keller and Albert Bühlmann, with two sets of data depending on whether the dive takes place above or below 700 metres of altitude. A spring-loaded carabiner allows it to be clipped to the tank or the buoyancy vest. The Quattro is therefore not a mere exercise in nostalgia: it is a genuine saturation diving instrument, offered at a contained price for its category.

The Delma Quattro dive watch

The Quattro belongs to that rare family of diving watches designed around a technical idea rather than a style. The RBES system and the six available versions

The central argument of this reissue lies in the RBES, standing for Rapid Bracelet Exchange System. This bayonet mechanism allows the case to be released without any tools: pull the lever located at 8 o'clock, rotate the case one hour to free it, then refit it with the lever at 9 o'clock, turning the other way until it clicks. Three configurations then become possible with the three-link steel bracelet, the supplied rubber strap, or the aluminium decompression plate engraved with the Keller and Bühlmann tables. The latter is worn clipped to the tank or the vest thanks to its spring-loaded carabiner.

The range counts six versions, all at the same price. Two bezel treatments are offered: brushed and polished steel bezel, or black DLC bezel, which visually hardens the whole. Movement

The Quattro is powered by the Sellita SW200-1 calibre, a Swiss automatic movement widely proven in tool watches. It displays hours, minutes, central seconds and the date, a functional base perfectly suited to a dive instrument. Its frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour ensures good timekeeping stability, and its 26 jewels reflect a classic, robust architecture.
