Vertex

Vertex is a British watch company founded in 1912 by Claude Lyons, with a history closely connected to the British Armed Forces. During the First World War, the brand supplied watches to the military, before becoming one of the twelve manufacturers of the famous “Dirty Dozen” watches during the Second World War. After the war, Vertex expanded its range and introduced a collection of diving and sports watches in 1960. The company closed in 1972 during the quartz crisis before being revived in 2015 by Don Cochrane, the founder’s great-grandson. Today, Vertex retains a strong military identity while developing contemporary tool watches powered by Swiss movements. The M60 AquaLion particularly represents its approach to professional diving: inspired by British Special Forces, it is rated to 600 metres and built for demanding environments. Vertex therefore combines British military heritage, Swiss precision and modern construction with a focus on durability, legibility and practical functionality.
