MICROMILSPEC Dualtimer Pilot GMT watch

Starting from 1.750 €

The MICROMILSPEC Dualtimer is a GMT pilot's watch from a Norwegian studio specialising in timepieces developed with military units. It extends one of the very first commissions received by the brand, a pilot's watch designed for the Royal Norwegian Air Force, and opens a Pilot category within the Annual Exclusive Collection. Available in five dial colours, white, black, sand, green and blue, it displays two time zones through bicolour luminescent material, green for local time and blue for home time. Made to order in closed series, powered by Swiss mechanics and water resistant to 200 metres, it targets aviation professionals as much as military watch collectors.

MICROMILSPEC Dualtimer Pilot GMT aviator watch

MICROMILSPEC is a design studio based in Oslo, founded by Henrik Rye together with designer Anders Drage and an active-duty member of the Norwegian armed forces. Its way of working is unusual in the watch world: the brand develops bespoke Swiss watches with military units, and purchase remains restricted to members of the unit concerned. Since its first project delivered in 2020, more than forty timepieces have been created for the 335 Squadron, the Norwegian King's Guard, the Telemark Battalion, Norwegian and Swedish paratroopers, French special forces, the Asymmetric Warfare Group and the Oslo fire brigade.

Each year the studio opens a public window with its Annual Exclusive Collection, the only entry point for a civilian customer. The Dualtimer occupies a particular place within it: it is the brand's first aviator watch available outside a military context. It refers directly back to one of the very first orders received by MICROMILSPEC, a pilot's watch designed for the Royal Norwegian Air Force and intended for professionals working permanently across several time zones.

Earlier projects, such as the Hercules for the Royal Norwegian Air Force or the Sentry for NATO AWACS crews, had already laid the groundwork. With the Dualtimer, the brand formalises an Air category alongside its Land and Sea worlds, and offers an untraceable mechanical instrument designed for the instant reading of two time zones, day or night.

The MICROMILSPEC Dualtimer aviator watch

The Dualtimer adopts a sober, functional instrument silhouette, drawn directly from onboard aircraft equipment. Its case measures 42 mm in diameter for 12 mm thick, a combination that keeps a strong wrist presence without excessive height. Made from brushed stainless steel, it features chamfered crown guards that soften the line of the flanks while protecting the screw-down crown. The sapphire crystal covers both the dial and the caseback, allowing a view of the brand's signed rotor. The dial follows a layout derived from the Flieger type A, with the triangle and two dots at twelve o'clock, Arabic numerals and an altimeter-style date window at 3 o'clock.

The great originality lies in the luminous treatment: the bicolour Super-LumiNova X1 distinguishes local time, in green, from the GMT hand and the 24-hour bezel, in blue. In the dark, confusion between the two time zones becomes impossible, which is exactly what a crew flying between continents needs. The 24-hour rotating bezel, also luminescent, serves as an additional reference for the second time zone. With water resistance of 200 m, the Dualtimer comfortably exceeds the usual requirements of a pilot's watch and copes without reservation with demanding daily use. The whole is driven by a Sellita SW330-2 calibre, a guarantee of proven Swiss mechanics that is easy to maintain over time.

Five dials and strictly limited runs

The Dualtimer is currently available in five dial colours. The matte radial black dial opens the sequence in 2025, in a first series of 75 pieces, before returning in a second edition of 150 pieces. The matte white dial follows, in a first edition limited to 75 pieces, with pre-orders opening on 1 July and delivery announced for early 2027. These two versions are priced from 1,750 € on rubber, and 1,900 € on a steel bracelet. Alongside them, the Look-at-me edition brings together the sand, green and blue dials, limited to 25 pieces per colour and priced at 1,670 €. The brand makes no secret of the deliberate contrast here: of more than forty bespoke watches produced, thirty-eight wore a black dial.

These three versions receive a ceramic bezel and a rubber strap matched to the dial colour. All Dualtimer watches are made to order, in closed quotas, which explains the long delivery times and the runs that sell out quickly. Each piece is delivered in a presentation box and can receive a personal engraving, in keeping with the customisation ethos that has built the Oslo studio's reputation. The five-year international warranty confirms the premium positioning of this GMT watch, presented as the more focused and more affordable sister of the Worldtimer.

MICROMILSPEC Dualtimer aviator watch: two time zones, instant reading

The MICROMILSPEC Dualtimer combines a 42 mm steel case with a thickness of 12 mm, sapphire crystal on both sides and water resistance of 200 metres. Its Sellita SW330-2 calibre, adjusted by the brand and fitted with an in-house rotor, delivers a power reserve of 56 hours and a stated accuracy of ± 7 s/day. The 24-hour rotating bezel and bicolour Super-LumiNova make reading both time zones instant, day or night. Five dials, numerous rubber or steel straps, made-to-order production in closed series and a five-year international warranty round out this proposition.

01

Movement

The Dualtimer is powered by the Sellita SW330-2 calibre, a Swiss GMT movement produced in La Chaux-de-Fonds, adjusted by the brand and fitted with a MICROMILSPEC rotor visible through the caseback. This mechanical automatic beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour, counts 26 jewels and offers a power reserve of 56 hours. Accuracy is stated at ± 7 s/day. Its caller-type GMT architecture allows independent adjustment of the 24-hour hand, a logical solution for continuously tracking a second time zone.

Diameter and materials

The case measures 42 mm in diameter for 12 mm thick and is made of brushed stainless steel, with chamfered crown guards. The sapphire crystal protects the dial and reveals the movement through the caseback. The 24-hour rotating bezel is luminescent and is finished in ceramic on the sand, green and blue versions. The dial is offered in matte white, matte radial black, sand, green or blue, with a design derived from the Flieger type A and a date window at 3 o'clock.

03

Water resistance

The Dualtimer claims water resistance of 200 m, or 20 ATM, a level well beyond what is required of a pilot's watch and sufficient for swimming as well as surface water activities. This resistance relies on a screw-down crown and a screw-down caseback, two simple and proven mechanical locks. Night-time legibility is ensured by the bicolour Super-LumiNova X1, green for local time and blue for the GMT hand as well as the 24-hour bezel.

Accessories

The choice of straps is wide: textured rubber in black, white or orange, or a brushed steel H-link bracelet with a butterfly clasp. The sand, green and blue versions come as standard on a rubber strap matched to the dial. A quick-change system and a strap tool make swapping easy. The presentation box has three compartments and holds the certificate of authenticity, the warranty card, a fibre cloth and a military patch. A personal engraving is included on request.

Warranty

Each Dualtimer comes with a five-year international warranty, a generous duration for an independent studio and consistent with the Swiss mechanics on board. This coverage accompanies a model sold exclusively made to order, outside any conventional distribution network, which reinforces the importance of the after-sales support offered by the brand. Each piece is delivered with a certificate of authenticity and a warranty card tucked into the presentation box, documents to keep for any future service through the Oslo studio's after-sales department.
