RZE Resolute Type A pilot's watch
RZE is a Singaporean micro-brand whose name derives from reise, the German word for travel. This semantic origin is no coincidence: since its beginnings the brand has championed the idea of movement driven by intention, that of accompanying those who travel, explore and step outside the frame. Active for around five years by the time this model launched, it has built a solid reputation in one specific area, that of titanium cases executed with a level of care rarely seen at this price point.
Its technical signature carries a name: UltraHex™, a coating applied to grade 2 titanium, rated to roughly 1200 Hv of hardness, designed to let the case absorb everyday knocks and abrasion without marking. It's this approach that the Resolute Type A brings to the world of aviation.
The model grafts the Type A dial configuration of 1940s German observation watches, with its Arabic numerals, high-contrast minute track and triangle flanked by two dots at twelve, onto the Resolute family, until now a line of field watches. The RZE Resolute Type A pilot's watch
The Resolute Type A rests on a brushed grade 2 titanium case treated with the UltraHex™ coating, rated to roughly 1200 Hv of hardness. This choice of material serves a dual purpose: lightening the watch on the wrist while giving it scratch resistance clearly superior to that of conventional steel. The Carbon Black, the most faithful to the spirit of the historic Type A, pairs a black dial with beige-tinted aged-radium-style lume and a pale orange seconds hand, on black leather. The Polaris White reverses the reading with a white dial, black printing and a contrasting minute ring, delivered on OD green TecTuff® leather. All three carry the same price.
The real in-house novelty sits on the back. The Resolute Type A introduces the brand's first sapphire caseback, a curved window engraved with an aircraft, a condensation trail and RZE's founding year. Held by four screws and sealed with a VITON® gasket, it costs nothing in terms of water resistance, which remains fixed at 100 metres. An optional five-link HexLink titanium bracelet, fitted with the QUIKCLIQ™ clasp, makes its return to the collection with this model. The watch ships with the Blackcomb 2.0 pouch.

Movement
The Resolute Type A is powered by the automatic Miyota 82S0 calibre, a Japanese movement known for its ease of maintenance and reliability. It runs at 21,600 vibrations per hour, or 3 Hz, holds 21 jewels and offers a 42-hour power reserve. Hand-winding and hacking seconds are among its features, the latter allowing precise time-setting to the second. Lacking a date display, this calibre leaves the pilot's dial perfectly symmetrical, true to the model's instrument-driven logic.

The case measures 39.5mm in diameter, 11.5mm thick and 46mm lug-to-lug, a restrained size for an aviation watch.
