BOLDR Odyssey Regatta Dive Watch

Starting from 1.323 €

The BOLDR Odyssey Regatta is a regatta chronograph built for the sea, sitting somewhere between an extreme dive watch and a navigation instrument. Part of the Odyssey line, the Singaporean micro-brand’s family of oversized divers, it keeps that line’s 500-metre water resistance, helium release valve and imposing size, while adding a ten-minute countdown dial geared towards sailing race starts. Powered by a Swiss ETA Valjoux 7750 chronograph movement, it comes in two executions limited to one hundred numbered pieces each, with either a black-and-white dial or an admiral blue dial. A heavy, unapologetically technical piece, built for enthusiasts of tool watches that push the format to its extreme.

BOLDR Odyssey Regatta dive watch

BOLDR Supply Co. is a Singapore-based micro-brand known for robust, affordable tool watches designed as much for urban explorers as for water sports enthusiasts. The company sells most of its production directly through its own website, backed by a small network of authorised retailers, and ships its watches from Singapore or Hong Kong. Its Odyssey line brings together the largest divers in the catalogue: massive cases, strong pressure resistance and a construction that favours ruggedness over subtlety.

Launched in April 2021, the Odyssey Regatta was a first for the brand, its first regatta chronograph. It grafts a complication from the world of sailing, the start countdown, onto the Odyssey line’s dive-watch architecture. The countdown is used to time the final minutes before the starting gun, as boats jockey for position on the line. BOLDR gives it an original treatment, reading it off a coloured disc set beneath twelve o’clock rather than through the traditional circular sub-dial windows.

The bidirectional bezel rounds out this sailor’s toolkit with a fifteen-minute scale and a tachymetre graduated in nautical miles, used to estimate a boat’s speed. Each piece is numbered and carries an engraved caseback dedicated to the series on the back. The result is an unapologetic sea watch, just as at home on a sailboat’s deck as beneath the surface.

The BOLDR Odyssey Regatta dive watch

The Odyssey Regatta pushes the vocabulary of the sea-going tool watch to something close to its extreme. Its 316L stainless steel case, 45.5 mm across, carries over the faceted architecture of the Odyssey line, with cut sides and lightly softened edges that work to visually take the edge off its sheer mass. The dimensions, though, leave no room for ambiguity: 18.2 mm thick including the crystal, 52 mm from lug to lug, and 245 g on the scale with the bracelet fitted. This is a watch that wears like a genuine instrument and calls for a wrist sized to match, something the reports from owners confirm without any hedging.

Beneath that bulk, though, sits a genuine diver. With 500 metres of water resistance, the Regatta comfortably outstrips the needs of recreational diving, and its helium release valve earmarks it for long dives in saturation. The triple-locking screw-down crown and the one-piece screwed caseback round out a build that takes its cues seriously from salt water. Legibility isn’t sacrificed for all that: the finely textured dial carries skeletonised, boat-hull-shaped hands filled with luminous material, while the double-domed sapphire crystal receives a triple-layer anti-reflective coating on its inner face. On the deck of a sailboat as much as beneath the surface, the time reads at a glance, whatever the tilt of the wrist or the glare of the sun.

Limited-edition regatta chronograph

At the heart of the watch is a Swiss ETA Valjoux 7750 calibre in Elaboré grade, one of the most proven automatic chronograph movements on the market. Its distinguishing feature here is the display of the starting countdown: a ten-minute disc set beneath twelve o’clock, in blue and red, which replaces the circular sub-dial windows usually found on regatta watches. That countdown is used to time the final minutes before the starting gun, as boats manoeuvre into position on the line, and then to follow the race once it is under way.

The 60-click bidirectional bezel in ceramic combines two functions: a fifteen-minute scale, the first ten minutes of which repeat the disc’s blue-and-red code, and a tachymetre graduated in nautical miles for estimating a boat’s speed. It, too, is filled with Swiss Super-LumiNova. Two executions exist side by side: the original black-and-white dial version, launched in 2021 with a shaded gradient, and the Admiral Blue, which arrived in 2022 with a finely textured admiral blue dial. Specifications are strictly identical across both executions, only the dial’s colour changes. Each is limited to 100 numbered pieces, running from 001/100 to 100/100, with the one-piece screwed caseback carrying an engraving specific to the series.

BOLDR Odyssey Regatta dive watch: 500 m regatta chronograph

The BOLDR Odyssey Regatta combines a 45.5 mm 316L stainless steel case, 500 m water resistance with a helium release valve, and a Swiss ETA Valjoux 7750 chronograph in Elaboré grade. Its textured dial, black-and-white or admiral blue depending on the execution, houses a ten-minute countdown disc dedicated to regatta starts, while its bidirectional ceramic bezel combines a fifteen-minute scale with a tachymetre in nautical miles. The double-domed sapphire crystal gets an internal anti-reflective coating, the integrated steel bracelet offers six micro-adjustments, and every watch is numbered within a run of one hundred pieces.

Movement

The Odyssey Regatta runs on the Swiss ETA Valjoux 7750 in Elaboré grade, a cam-actuated automatic chronograph valued for its ruggedness and easy servicing. It winds by hand too and includes hacking seconds for precise time-setting. It beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour with roughly 44 hours of power reserve, driving the ten-minute regatta countdown shown beneath twelve o’clock.

Diameter and materials

The case measures 45.5 mm across and 18.2 mm thick including the crystal, with 52 mm lug to lug, an extreme size best suited to generous wrists. It’s cut from 316L stainless steel topped with a ceramic bezel, while the double-domed sapphire crystal carries a triple-layer anti-reflective coating inside. The dial is finely textured, shaded black-and-white on the original, admiral blue on the Admiral Blue version.

Water resistance

With 500 m / 50 ATM of water resistance, the Regatta ranks among the toughest series-produced divers. It carries a helium release valve for saturation diving, a triple-locking screw-down crown engraved with the brand’s logo, and a one-piece screwed caseback bearing an engraving specific to the limited series. The hands and bezel are filled with Swiss Super-LumiNova, keeping both the time and elapsed time legible in the dark.

Accessories

The watch ships on a steel bracelet integrated into the case, fitted with a quick-release system and six micro-adjustments for fine-tuning the fit through the day, a useful feature on a piece this size. The end links are solid and the 22 mm lug width opens the door to other straps. So equipped, the Regatta weighs 245 g. BOLDR doesn’t publicly detail the box contents for this model.

Warranty

BOLDR covers its watches with a 30-month warranty on the movement’s internal components. It excludes external wear, meaning scratches to the case, lugs or crystal, as well as water damage caused by negligence. Straps aren’t covered, nor are watches not bought from the official website or an authorised retailer. This warranty specifically covers the ETA Valjoux 7750 calibre that powers the watch, a mark of confidence in a proven, widely used Swiss mechanical movement.
