Guild Timepieces Mekong Military Watch
Starting from 320 €The Guild Timepieces Mekong is a military dive watch designed and assembled in the United States by a family workshop. An unapologetic homage to the Seiko 6105 made famous on the Mekong River, it keeps the cushion case while modernising the package: sapphire crystal, ceramic bezel, screw-down crown and 200-metre water resistance. Its Seiko NH35A calibre is regulated in-house and every case is pressure tested before leaving the workshop. Offered in five versions, from the stainless steel Classic to the black DLC Black Ops paying tribute to MACV-SOG, it targets military personnel, first responders and tool-watch enthusiasts. Made to order and numbered on the caseback, it arrives complete with two straps and a travel case.
Guild Timepieces Mekong military watch
Guild Timepieces is an American family workshop founded and run by Hunter Wealot, the brand's head watchmaker and designer, alongside John Parker. The house grew out of the Watchmens Guild community: the search for a first bespoke watch for that group produced the WG x RWC Riverine, made with RWatchCo, where Micah trained Hunter in assembly and regulation before handing him the design that became the Mekong. Every stage is claimed to take place on American soil: design, hand assembly, timegrapher regulation, pressure testing, engraving and shipping.
The range is structured in three strands. The Independent collection gathers the brand's own creations, the Homage collection embraces tributes to great tool watches of the past, and the Bespoke work accepts orders with no minimum, up to one-off pieces designed for a unit or an individual. The stated positioning targets professionals as much as enthusiasts: military personnel, law enforcement, rescue workers and collectors of field watches.
The Mekong is the brand's first watch, presented as the first step in its development. It pays homage to the Seiko 6105 nicknamed Captain Willard, worn in Vietnam and made legendary on the river that gives the model its name. The cushion case, dive bezel and highly legible dial carry that heritage forward, modernised with sapphire, ceramic and a screw-down crown. Each piece is made to order, with a stated lead time of five to eight weeks.

The Guild Timepieces Mekong military dive watch
The Mekong keeps the silhouette that made field tool watches a reputation: a massive cushion case, machined from solid 316L stainless steel, measuring 44 mm excluding the crown and 13.5 mm thick. The flanks wrap around the bezel and protect the crystal, in the spirit of military divers built for service rather than display. The 20 mm lug width stays modest relative to the diameter and makes strap changes easy. Above the dial, a flat sapphire crystal replaces the domed plexiglass of the original inspiration and brings far greater scratch resistance.

The unidirectional 120-click black ceramic bezel allows dive time to be timed without risk of accidental reverse rotation, while the screw-down crown locks the winding stem. Legibility has been worked on with a matte dial, broad hour markers and C3 luminescence that reads light green in daylight and glows green in the dark. The date, the only complication, sits without cluttering the composition. Every caseback carries an individual serial number corresponding to the order of manufacture, a detail that brings this artisanal production closer to small military batches than to mass industry. Hand-assembled, pressure tested and inspected before shipping, the Mekong presents itself as a service watch, at a price the brand has deliberately kept accessible.
Five versions, from Classic to Black Ops
The Mekong comes in five versions that share the case, calibre and water resistance. The Classic opens the range in natural steel, with a matte black dial and polished hands, delivered with a rubber strap and an Ultralight Ranger Green or Tiger Stripe strap. The Napalm switches to black DLC with an orange “Napalm” dial, DLC hands with orange highlights and a signature at 6 o'clock; it arrives with only the black Ultralight strap and black hardware. The Black Ops keeps the matte black dial on a DLC case and pays tribute to MACV-SOG operators, the secret American special operations unit in Vietnam.

Two collaborations round out the lineup: the Pirate Time made with Watches Win Wars, limited to 68 pieces and now sold out, and the Watchmens Guild Edition stamped with the community's logo at 9 o'clock and on the caseback. All rely on the same automatic Seiko NH35A calibre with date, beating at 21,600 vibrations per hour, whose 42-hour power reserve covers a weekend off the wrist. In-house regulation to ±15 seconds a day and pressure testing of every case, which validates the 200 m / 20 ATM water resistance, reflect the workshop's aim to deliver a watch ready for use. Made to order, the Mekong requires five to eight weeks of patience, six on average, before reaching the wrist.
Guild Timepieces Mekong military watch: the Captain Willard heritage
Guild Timepieces' first model, the Mekong revisits the Seiko 6105 known as Captain Willard with a cushion case modernised by sapphire crystal and a ceramic bezel. Offered in five versions, from the raw steel Classic to the black DLC Black Ops paying tribute to MACV-SOG, it is assembled, regulated and pressure tested in the United States before individual engraving on the caseback. Each piece is made to order, delivered within five to eight weeks with a rubber strap, a Teardown Systems Ultralight strap and a Watch Caddy case, all covered by a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
Movement
The Mekong is powered by the Seiko NH35A calibre, a Japanese automatic valued for its sturdiness and ease of servicing. It beats at 21,600 vibrations per hour, has twenty-four jewels and offers a 42-hour power reserve. Its only complication is the date. Where many brands settle for the factory tolerance of minus twenty to plus forty seconds a day, Guild Timepieces regulates every movement in-house to bring it to ±15 seconds a day, a worthwhile gain in accuracy at this price point.
Diameter and materials
The cushion case measures 44 mm excluding the crown and is 13.5 mm thick, with a 20 mm lug width. It is machined from solid 316L stainless steel, left raw on the Classic and coated in black DLC on the Napalm and Black Ops versions. A flat sapphire crystal protects the dial, matte black on most versions, orange on the Napalm. The bezel is black ceramic, the hands polished on the Classic and Black Ops, DLC treated on the Napalm.
Water resistance
The Mekong offers 200 m / 20 ATM water resistance, a figure that supports recreational diving as well as professional use in wet environments. The screw-down crown locks the winding stem and contributes to the overall seal, while the unidirectional 120-click dive bezel allows dive time to be tracked. C3 luminescence ensures legibility in darkness or murky water. Guild Timepieces states that every watch undergoes a pressure test in its workshop before shipping.
Accessories
The package is generous for the segment. Every watch arrives with a two-piece rubber strap and a Teardown Systems Ultralight strap whose colour is chosen at order, Ranger Green, Tiger Stripe or black depending on the version, with black DLC hardware on coated models. The 20 mm lug width opens access to a wide range of aftermarket straps. A Watch Caddy case in Ranger Green and Coyote, developed in an exclusive colourway with Teardown Systems, is also included. The Napalm, however, comes with only the black strap.
Warranty
Guild Timepieces backs the Mekong with a lifetime warranty covering manufacturing defects, a rare commitment at this price point and consistent with hand assembly carried out in its own workshop. This cover does not extend to normal wear or damage from use. In return, the brand states that all Mekong sales are final, with no possibility of return, and that each piece is made to order with a five to eight week lead time.
