The Corrigia05 DLC M-Noir is a German tool watch produced in a very limited run by the Corrigia manufacture, based in Jockgrim. A fully DLC-coated version of the 44mm line, it pairs a bead-blasted 316L stainless steel case with a matte black sandwich dial and gold-lacquered hands filled with Super-LumiNova SLN Old Radium. Its fixed round bezel sets it apart from standardised divers, but its fully screwed architecture and two interchangeable casebacks push water resistance to 3000 metres. Powered by a Swiss manufacture calibre with a 70-hour power reserve, limited to 50 pieces and delivered with a full set of accessories, it is aimed at collectors of handcrafted pieces with a vintage military spirit.

Corrigia 05 DLC dive watch

Corrigia was born in Karlsruhe in 2013, though its story begins two years earlier, in a leather workshop. Its founder, Cengiz Bilgiç, was then hand-making straps inspired by techniques used between the 1930s and 1960s. The turning point came from a close study of a period strap fitted on a Panerai Luminor 6152/1, which he eventually reproduced 1:1. From that exercise came the brand's DNA: characterful leather, double stitching pierced one hole at a time, and a fully embraced vintage military aesthetic.

The move into watchmaking came for the strap business's tenth anniversary, with the Corrigia 01. Development, production, logistics and showroom are now all gathered in Jockgrim, across more than a thousand square metres. Each timepiece is hand-assembled there by watchmaker Simon Mayer, who checks function, accuracy and finishing before shipping. The brand is distributed through the Embassy boutiques in Lucerne, as well as MisterChrono in Paris, Hong Kong and Singapore.

The Corrigia 05 is the manufacture's 44mm line. Its fixed round bezel sets it apart from the Corrigia 01 and Corrigia 02: it is not a standardised diver but a versatile tool watch designed to accompany both trips to sea and everyday wear. The DLC version pushes this logic into darker territory, with a matte black case that absorbs light and highlights the warm tone of the lume. Corrigia series are never reproduced: each batch runs its course, then makes way for the next, which makes this reference as much a collector's piece as an instrument.

The Corrigia 05 DLC tool watch

The Corrigia 05 DLC M-Noir has generous proportions, true to the spirit of dive instruments of old. The 44mm case in 316L stainless steel first receives a careful bead-blasting, which evens out the surface, then a precisely applied DLC coating, which gives it its deep matte black and high scratch resistance. The total height of 14.50 mm and the lug-to-lug length of 53 mm signal a watch with a real presence on the wrist, though its 119 g weight without strap remains fairly contained. Legibility relies on a matte black sandwich dial with two layers, whose hour markers are diamond-machined and whose markings are deeply recessed using a pocket-milling technique.

The luminous fill, a Super-LumiNova SLN Old Radium, is applied by hand in Switzerland over eighty steps, on both the dial and the gold-lacquered hands. The contrast between the warm tone of the lume and the absolute black of the case gives the whole a distinctly vintage look, close to military watches of the last century. The absence of a date window preserves the dial's symmetry and serves immediate legibility, day or night. The flat sapphire crystal protects the display without distortion, while the fixed round bezel, itself bead-blasted then DLC-coated, extends the line of the case and preserves the piece's visual unity.

Limited series, modularity and hand assembly

Announced as an edition limited to 50 pieces, this DLC reference sits at the top of the 44mm collection: the three steel versions are priced at €3,900, against €4,500 for this black model. The difference lies in the case treatment, but also in a construction philosophy taken very far. From the crown to the crown protectors, everything is assembled by screwing: no part is glued or printed, each element is machined, turned or engraved, which makes the watch fully strippable and eases future servicing.

Modularity is built into the offer. Two screwed casebacks are supplied with the watch: a sapphire caseback with three tinted inserts, water resistant to 300 metres, and a Pro caseback in solid steel which raises water resistance to 3000 metres. Two crown protectors accompany the double-gasket screw-down crown, one plain, the other reinforced against impacts. The buyer also picks two straps from True Vintage leathers hand-stitched in Jockgrim and vulcanised FKM rubbers resistant to salt water, all in a 24mm lug width, with a screw-down buckle in 316L steel. The Corrigia 05 DLC brings together a 44mm 316L stainless steel case, bead-blasted then DLC-coated, a 3.5mm sapphire crystal and a matte black sandwich dial fitted with Super-LumiNova SLN Old Radium applied by hand in Switzerland. Its Swiss manufacture MLJP-G100 calibre offers 70 hours of power reserve, 24 jewels and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. Supplied with two interchangeable screw-down casebacks, the watch's water resistance ranges from 300 to 3000 metres. Movement

The watch is powered by the Swiss manufacture automatic calibre MLJP-G100, a movement fitted with 24 jewels and ceramic ball bearings, decorated with Côtes de Genève. Its frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour ensures good rate stability, while the 70-hour power reserve lets the watch rest all weekend without needing to be reset. Each piece is hand-assembled in Jockgrim by watchmaker Simon Mayer, who checks function and accuracy before delivery.

Diameter and materials

The 44mm case in 316L stainless steel is first bead-blasted, then covered with a DLC coating that gives it a deep matte black and strong scratch resistance. It stands 14.50 mm thick, measures 53 mm lug to lug and weighs 119 g without strap. The fixed round bezel, also in bead-blasted then coated 316L, frames a 3.5mm sapphire crystal. The matte black sandwich dial, with diamond-machined hour markers, completes this fully screwed construction.

Water resistance

Water resistance depends on which caseback is fitted, both being supplied with the watch. With the three-insert sapphire caseback, the Corrigia 05 DLC withstands 30 ATM, or 300 metres. With the solid steel Pro caseback, it climbs to 300 ATM, or 3000 metres, a rare figure for a watch of this category. The double-gasket screw-down crown and the two crown protectors, one plain, the other reinforced against impacts, complete this protection. The Super-LumiNova SLN Old Radium ensures legibility in the dark.

Accessories

The package is particularly complete. The buyer chooses two straps from hand-stitched True Vintage leathers and vulcanised FKM rubbers, all in 24 mm, paired with a Corrigia-logo screw-down buckle in 316L steel. Also included are the two Basic and Pro crown protectors, the two screwed casebacks in sapphire and steel, a strap-change tool and a crown-protector replacement tool, both in steel. Everything is stored in a handmade genuine leather case.

Warranty

Corrigia backs this reference with a two-year international warranty. The card supplied with the watch is a functional warranty card stating the purchase date, the manufacturer's signature and the applicable limitations. Before shipping, each piece undergoes a check of function, accuracy and aesthetic finishing at the Jockgrim manufacture. The fully screwed construction, with no gluing or printing, also eases future servicing and replacement of external components.
