Ianos Dytis Dive Watch
Starting from 1.980 €The Ianos Dytis closes the Greek micro-brand's trilogy of dive watches and delivers its most accomplished version. The third chapter after the Avyssos and the Mihanikos, it adopts a tighter 41 mm case in bead-blasted grade 2 titanium, a light material impervious to saltwater corrosion. Its identity draws entirely on Hellenic culture: hour markers inspired by the kampanelopetra used by sponge divers, a 12 o'clock marker formed of four lines echoing the national flag, and a small seconds designed as a protective eye. Offered with two dials, flag blue and Cycladic white, and driven by a Swiss automatic calibre water resistant to 300 metres, it is aimed at fans of tool watches with strong character.
Ianos Dytis dive watch
Ianos Watches is a micro-brand born from the attachment of its Greek founder, Jacob Hatzidimitriou, to his country's maritime history. His first diver, the Avyssos, launched in 2019, already told the story of sponge diving practised in the Dodecanese, where divers descended weighted with a hand-carved stone. The brand went on to continue this story with the Mihanikos, then released special editions with retailer Chronopassion and with the OYK, the Greek navy's combat swimmer unit.
The Dytis, whose name simply means diver, closes this trilogy. It condenses what the brand learned from the two previous models: a monobloc case crossed by a strap channel machined from the solid block, which has become Ianos's technical signature, a stripped-back bezel that lets the dial speak, and a decorative vocabulary drawn entirely from Hellenic culture.
The hour markers echo the shape of the kampanelopetra, the diving stone filmed by the brand in Symi, the 12 o'clock marker is reduced to the four stripes of the national flag, and the small seconds takes the form of the mati, the protective eye that has been fixed to the prows of boats since antiquity. Assembled around Swiss mechanics and shipped from Switzerland, the Dytis is aimed at those seeking a tool watch carrying a story as much as an instrument capable of accompanying dives.

The Ianos Dytis dive watch
The Dytis takes the Mihanikos case and redesigns it entirely, in a format the brand deliberately tightened following customer feedback. At 41 mm in diameter and 49 mm lug to lug, it becomes the most compact of the Ianos divers, where the two previous models measured 43 and 44 mm. Its reworked profile limits the bulk felt on the wrist, while the 14.68 mm thickness, measured from the top of the crystal to the base of the case, drops to 11.45 mm if measured only to the top of the strap channel. The choice of bead-blasted grade 2 titanium marks a first for the brand.

Case, bezel, crown and buckle are all machined from this alloy, prized for its lightness, mechanical strength and resistance to saltwater corrosion, a decisive argument for a watch intended for seawater use. The bead-blasted treatment gives a matte surface with no reflections, true to the collection's utilitarian character. The unidirectional titanium bezel remains free of graduations aside from a luminescent marker. Above the dial, the domed anti-reflective sapphire crystal ensures clear legibility from every angle. Fixed lugs, a new feature for the range, replace the removable set-up used until now by the brand. Together they form an understated diver, designed to be worn as comfortably day to day as underwater.
Two dials, flag blue and Cycladic white
The Dytis is offered in just two versions, which differ only in colour. Reference ID02 carries a blue dial matching the exact shade of the Greek flag, on which the white hour markers stand out in sharp contrast. Reference ID01 opts for a white dial inspired by the whitewashed houses of the islands, whose markers outlined in blue produce a brighter read. This is a first for the brand, which has until now stuck to dark dials. Both versions are sold at the same price and delivered on a matching strap.

Beneath the dial, the Sellita SW360-1 calibre brings the Swiss mechanics expected at this price point: automatic winding, 28,800 vibrations per hour and a power reserve of around 56 hours. Its off-centre small seconds, reimagined as a protective eye at 6 o'clock, serves as a running indicator before entering the water. The raised luminescent hour markers maintain legibility in murky water as well as at night. The 20 mm single-pass rubber strap, textured with a sponge pattern on its inner face, slides through the channel built into the case for a snug fit. Finally, while the Dytis is not a limited series, the first hundred pieces of each colourway are numbered. Priced at around 1,980 €, it sits at the upper end of the micro-brand bracket, backed by titanium and Swiss mechanics.
Ianos Dytis dive watch: grade 2 titanium and Greek heritage
The final chapter of the Ianos dive watch trilogy, the Dytis distils the essentials into a 41 mm bead-blasted grade 2 titanium case, water resistant to 300 metres and sealed with a screw-down crown. The Swiss Sellita SW360-1 calibre delivers around 56 hours of power reserve and drives a small seconds designed as a Greek protective eye. The unidirectional titanium bezel, domed anti-reflective sapphire crystal and raised luminescent hour markers combine for instant legibility. The single-pass rubber strap runs through the channel machined into the case, the brand's signature, and closes with a titanium buckle. Just two dials: flag blue or white.
Movement
The Dytis is driven by the Sellita SW360-1 calibre, a Swiss automatic movement with an off-centre small seconds. Fitted with 31 jewels and running at 28,800 vibrations per hour, it offers a power reserve of around 56 hours, enough to get through a weekend without winding. Its 11''½ format suits the 41 mm case without oversizing the dial. Ianos turns the small seconds into a running indicator here: the Greek protective eye placed at 6 o'clock confirms at a glance that the watch is running, a useful check before a dive.
Diameter and materials
The case measures 41 mm in diameter for 49 mm lug to lug and 14.68 mm thick, measured from the crystal to the case back. Made entirely of bead-blasted grade 2 titanium, like the bezel, crown and buckle, it offers a non-reflective matte surface and a featherweight feel. The domed anti-reflective sapphire crystal protects a dial offered in flag blue or white, whose kampanelopetra markers echo the diving stone of sponge fishermen. The monobloc case, with no opening caseback, keeps a compact silhouette despite the integrated strap channel.
Water resistance
Rated at 300 m / 30 ATM, the Dytis comfortably covers recreational diving. Water resistance relies on a grade 2 titanium screw-down crown and on a monobloc case whose strap channel is machined from the solid block, with no opening caseback or sapphire display back. The unidirectional titanium bezel, deliberately left without graduations, keeps only a luminescent marker to track elapsed time. The raised luminescent hour markers and the running indicator at 6 o'clock round out legibility in dark water.
Accessories
The Dytis is delivered on a 20 mm single-pass rubber strap, customised with a sponge pattern on its inner face as a nod to sponge fishing. It runs through the channel machined into the case, which keeps the watch flush against the wrist without adding thickness, and closes with a grade 2 titanium pin buckle, finished with rubber keepers. The strap matches the dial, blue or white. Fixed lugs replace the removable set-up of earlier Ianos models. Ianos does not disclose details of its packaging.
Warranty
Each Dytis comes with a two-year warranty from the brand, alongside a fourteen-day return period after receipt. Orders placed through the official shop are shipped from Switzerland, delivery included, with the listed price understood as excluding taxes. The model is not a limited series, but the first hundred pieces of each colourway are numbered. A network of authorised retailers, notably in Greece, complements direct sales for those who want to see the watch on the wrist before buying.
